University of Craiova through The Faculty of Letters in partnership with The Institute of Ethnography and Folklore “Constantin Brăiloiu” of Romanian Academy and Norwegian Institute of Theology in Oslo, Norway implements in 2014-2015 the project Revitalization and promotion of minorities cultural patrimony in Oltenia in the context of cultural diversity, identification number LLP116/08.04.2014, funded in the Program PA17/RO13 “Promotion of diversity in culture and art in European cultural patrimony ”, SEE Grants.

Thursday, the 5th of March 2015, 6.00 p.m., University House in Craiova, Calea Unirii, No. 57, will take place the first intercultural evening of the project. The main objective of the event is the promotion of specificity elements of Bulgarian and Greek minorities’ culture in the community and the dissemination of information about their community life.

There will participate exponents of the CULTURAL ASSOCIATION OF ROMANIANS OF BULGARIAN ETHNIC “SEDEANCA” and  GREEK COMMUNITY IN CRAIOVA.

    There are invited the representatives of ethnic minorities communities in Craiova, local and regional Mass-Media, volunteer students, audience interested by the minorities’ culture in Oltenia. There will be organized book exhibitions, the presentation of the history of Bulgarian and Greek communities, presentation of traditional costumes, traditional gastronomy and artistic moments.

 

The event objectives target:

The increase of knowledge degree of cultural inheritance of Bulgarian and Greek minorities in Băilești and Craiova;

the catalysis of the interest for the artistic phenomenon among all cultural minority in Oltenia;

the promotion of cultural history of ethnical minorities in Oltenia region among the wide public and the highlighting of the role which had and still has the ethnical minorities over the socio-cultural climate in Oltenia;

The theme of the intercultural evening circumscribes to the central theme of the events developed in the community among this project: cultural diversity and cohabitation of ethnicities in the concord spirit.

The direct beneficiaries of the event will be the communities of ethnical minorities through the presentation of the documents of cultural patrimony and volunteer students, who are encouraged to become promoters in this cultural circuit.
